Brian Newhouse (on the left) is helping build a septic system with flushing toilets. The current outhouses in the background are rarely used. Brian has a non-profit (www.village12.org), and the batey is his first community development project. He's contributed his life's savings to the work he's doing. He's an amazing guy. If you're ever looking for a good cause to support, Brian's org and work would be worthwhile.

Kevin helped Brian build this water filtration system. The pots are made of ceramic, sawdust and silver. The system has six pots, and each pot can filter around 40 liters every 3 hours or so. The pots are supposed to be effective for up to five years.
